During a new moon, the moon is positioned between the Earth and the sun, making it invisible to observers on Earth due to its dark, unlit side facing us. This phase results in a night sky dominated by a deep black void where the moon should be, often accompanied by the surrounding stars appearing brighter without the moon's light to outshine them. A faint turquoise blue halo can be seen around the location of the new moon. This subtle coloration is caused by the scattering of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere, a natural phenomenon that adds a slight visual hint to the moon's presence amidst the overarching darkness.

For all of our hand dyed yarns we recommend that they are either washed by hand or machine washed cold, gentle cycle. Use only gentle wool wash and always lay flat to dry.

Variations between dyelots and from skein to skein are expected. It is best practice when working with hand dyed yarn to alternate skeins as you work.
